1st Draft Of Steady Lines

this is our 1st Draft of steady lines, as you can see, the film was shot in our school uniform , also you could see reflections of people in the mirror. All these things makes the film very amatuer.

New Features about the Final Draft

My group and I have taught about what to do for the final draft since we are re-shooting the film. Although Mr. T liked the camera shots and storyline of the first sequence, we have decided to change some aspects of the film. We decided to get rid of the panic attack scene and replace it with Tindall looking for a special material or thing in a residential home. This changes the hermenuetic code of the first draft. In the final film the audience will question, what Jack Tindall is looking for and why do I want to kill him. Although we have change some parts of the scene, we have still kept the camera shots and special effects of the 1st draft. Also our target audience remains the same, as nothing has change about the genre and similar films we chose.
I going to update, the new storyboards, locations and costumes on the blog soon.

Take1 Production Editing Ist Draft

This shows a few picutres i took when we were editing our 1st Draft

Updates

Our plan we made wasn't follwed by the Take1 Production group, therefore most of my post i did before took long before i updated it. Our shooting and editing plan wasn't followed due to some members not turning up to the film shoot, this slowed down our group and thereforre we didnt't have enough time to make the video and correct it, although we manage to finish filming and editing our first draft it, we were told that the camera shots and editing was good, but our costumes and sets and location was very poor, due to the fact that we shot it like a better version of a premilary task(we shot it school uniform aswell). Therefore we are planning to re -shoot our film this week and hopefully edit the final film.

Due to some members of the team not putting much effort in the project, our time mangement has been very poor, but hopefully, we are going to get back on track soon, if we put a 120% effort into it. Am going to update our next location and our first draft soon.

Plan

This is our plan for makiing our film, we are goin to shoot andd edit the film in on these dates

Steady Lines Location

This is our film steady Lines location. We chose this loation because it fits the scene in our film, the lighting of the toiltes and corrridors is not bright, this makes the scene moody, which is very perfect for the Ist scene. The location is mostly in the school therefore much permission is not needed to shoot the film, As you can see the the location photos of duffys and the alley, is very quite and rarely anyone walks pass, this makes our work much easier to shoot without members of the public interrupting.

Target Audience

Steady Lines is based on the genre drama/action, the film is going to show a protagonist having a panic attack in a toilet, due to an issue which happened 6 hours earlier. Our target audience is a wide range of audience due to the genre drama/action.
We gathered information about target audience through online research; we look at the target audience of our similar movies. Based on our research we are saw that target audience is partly chosen by the content of the film. Casino Royale was categorized 12A due to one scene of torture and strong violence action. Research also showed that males like action packed films more than females, therefore the film Casino Royale was aimed at the male gender although some females may choose to watch it.
Based on our research, Steady lines is Demographically aimed at teenagers from 12 to adults 20+, the reason for this is that, the storyline is more based on drama action in genre therefore teenagers would like to watch it, also the film do not involve violence scenes or swear words, therefore making it pleasant for young teenagers to watch, this puts our film in a category type 12. Although the film is aimed at this age group, adults at 30+ may choose to watch it. The film is aimed at different races therefore making the audience a wide range. The prediction of the film is 60% of male to 40% female would want to see this film, due to the fact that it’s more drama action. The film was aimed at social class B, C1, C2 and D, this social class could relate to the film.
Based on physcographic, we aiming the film at mainly mainstream and explorers, the reason for this is that they could relate to the film and also explores may want something new in genre than what they normally watch.

3rd Textual Analysis: Similar Films and Narrative Codes

These two films are similar to our film ''Steady Lines'', due to the fact, the first opening sequence is shot in black and white, this effect signifies the past and also what happened before the main film starts. Following the opening sequence of the film particularly control, shows that the film is drama in genre, while casino royale shows that the film is action and sort of like a drama in genre.

In both films you could see that there's not much going on in the first sequence, the reason for this is not to give away the narrative code of the storyline. Narrative Code is when a story line of a film is not explained very well. In both films Control and Casino Royale there were narrative codes to drive the film, example in the opening sequence of Casiono Royale James Bond was sitting in the man's office with the lights off before the man unlocked his office, this leaves the audience thinking and also to answer why James Bond is in there at the first place.

In our two minutes film , Jack Tindall our starring character, will have a panic attack in the toilet, this will leave the audience to ask and think about why Jack is having a panic attack and stressed out. This will make the film interesting to the audience due to the fact that they want to know why his having a panic attack, in other words the audience will be anxious to know what happened to him and why.

Similar Films to Steady Lines

2nd Textual Analysis: Casino Royale

At the start of the film Casino Royale, the production and distribution companies are first shown(MGM and Columbia). The scene then fades out and starts off with a black and white effect. At the opening scene of the film, an establishment shot of a story building is shown, this is to tell the audience where the scene is set or the location. After the establishment shot a car parks in front of the building, this is then followed by a superimpose on the screen ''Prague, Czech Republic'', this shows the audience which country and city the scene is taking place. After that, the shot cuts to a low angle shot of a man coming out of the car, this shows how significant and important the man is. A medium shot of him in a lift is seen, this is followed by a long shot of him wallking to an office. In the office as he puts his hat down, we see an eye-line match of him looking at the mirror, this is followed by a non-diegetic sound of a high pitch note signifying the tension, we then hear James Bond talking, this is then followed by a reaction shot and a eye-line match of the man looking at James Bond. The man then sits in a chair, a close-up shot of a gun is shown in the draw while he sits down. Series of medium shots is then used in order for the audience to follow the dialogue. The shot is then cut to James Bond fighting a guy in a toilet, after the fighting scene, the scene is then cut back to James Bond and the man, but this time the man is pointing the gun at James Bond.

In the opening sequence of Casino Royale, we see the main character of the film (James Bond) and the production and distrubiton companies of the film, the first scene tells us that James Bond is sort of like a spy, due to the fact that, he appeared in the office before the man opened door, his costumes and props of him wearing a suite also shows his an important person. The opening sequence also shows that James Bond is on a mission as he recaps events in the past.

1st Textual Analysis: Control

The opening Sequence starts off with the production names of the film, it then zooms in to fade in and out. The film was filmed in black and white all through . The scene starts off with a medium close-up of a young teenager with a voice over the scene, tthis tells the audience what his thinking in his mind, The camera then zooms out into a master shot showing the audience the location of the scene( his bedroom). After that, the scene cuts to the Title of the film ''Control'' (Font: Dotum, Size: 48, Colour: white and black in the background). The title flashes for a few seconds and then fades out to an establishment shot of house of flat with a superimpose showing the audience the year and location of the scene. We then see a long shot showing the young young teenager walking in a park , this is followed by a diegetic sound of people playing football at the background, A wide shot is then taking showing a kid saying ''Pass me the ball'', he ignores him and walks pass. Has he walks pass, Non- Diegetic music of strings of guitar is played, it then begins to build up with other instruments like the drums and piano, as he gets neaerer to the house of flats. A medium of shot of a man reading a newspaper is shown, followed by a match on action of him at the door, the man then says ''Alright there'', he again ingnores the man.

In the opening sequence, mainly the production and distribution companies is shown, we also see the main charcter of the film with his family, we also see the year of the scene . The opening sequence doesnt show us the much about the film, it only tells us that, something or an issue is disturbing the teenager, this makes the audience very anxious to know what is wrong with him(Narrative Code). You could see that the film is mainly drama in genre.

Health & Safety and Risk Assesment

Our film Steady Lines mainly doesn't exist brutal or violence scenes, therefore this makes the shooting of the film a very low risk to people and us ourselves, the film shoot willAdd Image be located at the windsor boys' school, specifically building at with the male toilets. We will be filming scenes during lesson to avoid interrupting and distraction from students or members of staff in th school, this makes it a low risk because the amount of people interrupting us filming is reduced. A couple of scenes will be also filmed at duffys( a shop near the school), again the street is normally quite during lessong time therefore making it a low risk to shoo the film.
